Annexation Could Affect Fayetteville Elections:
In Fayetteville, the recent annexation of 27 square miles
may play a key role in the election. In September, the city's population
grew by more than 40,000.
City leaders fought for a year to add the extra land. The
legal battle went all the way to the state Supreme Court before the
annexation was approved.
Mayor Marshall Pitts hopes to retain his seat. There are
also eight city council seats up for grabs.
