A SWOT analysis – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats 

Strengths –                 A strong presence of municipal officials at Town Hall Day 

Weaknesses –           If your town or city is not represented at Town Hall Day 

Opportunities –         The chance to advocate for priorities, including additional funding
                                    for infrastructure needs. 

Threats --                   Bills that threaten municipal authority, including 18 that would
                                    eliminate or limit municipal annexation authority. 

Those who are anti-annexation and anti-municipal government are working hard to make their points to legislators.
We need you in Raleigh for Town Hall Day to ensure the municipal voice is heard.

Registration deadline for NCLM Town Hall Day is Thursday, April 26.

Register online at www.nclm.org  Cost is $30 per municipal official and $15 per guest.

Town Hall Day Details

Officials can attend one of the two morning briefings (10 a.m. or 10:45 a.m.) to learn the latest developments on municipal legislative issues. Shuttle buses will be available after the briefings to take participants to the Legislative Building to meet with representatives and senators (or attendees may walk the two blocks to the Legislative Building). 

The barbecue lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the NCLM offices, and municipal officials are asked to bring the legislators to lunch. The NCLM offices are a short, two-block walk down Jones Street to the corner of Dawson and Jones streets. Shuttle buses also will be available. 

After lunch, municipal officials are encouraged to observe the House or Senate in session.

                        Quorum Center Lobby

Onsite registration is $40 for each municipal official and $20 for each spouse or personal guest.

10:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Shuttle Bus Service

Continuous shuttle bus service will run from in front of the Quorum Center at 323 West Jones Street to the Legislative Building on Jones Street from 10:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

10:00 – 10:30 a.m.  First Legislative Briefing

10:45 – 11:15 a.m.  Second Legislative Briefing

Parking

Parking will be available at the Quorum Center, 323 West Jones St., adjacent to the David E. Reynolds Building. Parking around the Legislative Building is very limited. For your convenience, we have arranged complimentary parking at the Quorum Center parking deck, which is at the corner of Harrington and Jones Streets. Entrance to the parking deck is on Harrington Street. A parking placard will be mailed to you along with your name badge. Please place the parking placard in the windshield of you vehicle or tell the parking attendant you are here for NCLM Town Hall Day.
